tranZitions @ work

tranzitions @ work is the Local Community Partnership that works within Northern Brisbane and on the Redcliffe Peninsula.

This Australian Government funded not-for-profit organisation works with schools, students and the business community in assisting to identify and promote fulfilling careers to students while satisfying the skill requirements of local industries.

Currently, tranzitions @ work provides various programmes to the community including:

• Structured Workplace Learning
• Career and Transition Support Programme
• Adopt A School Programme
• Australian School Based Apprenticeships
• Youth Pathways
• Job Placement Organisation

Sarah Starkey of Sandgate District High School became the inaugural winner of the tranzitions @ work Vocational Education and Training Student of the Year which was presented at the tranzitions @ work Gala Dinner and Awards night last week at the Kedron Wavell Services Club.

The inaugural Gala Dinner and Awards night was an amazing success with Students, Employers and Schools being recognised for their efforts in the area of Vocational Education and Training for the regions of Brisbane North A and Redcliffe.

tranzitions @ work manager John Herbert was delighted with the evening and said that all the award recipients should be proud of their efforts in 2007
