TRANZITIONS RECEIVES BEST GIFT OF ALL
tranzitions @ work today proudly announced they will be receiving funding from the State Government to improve the services and facilitates they provide to the community. This funding support comes from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund which is managed by the State Government to assist local non-for-profit organisations in providing community services or activities that benefit the community.
The aim of the Local Community Partnership is to ensure all young people aged 13 to 19 have the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required for seamless and successful transition from school to post-school options in education, training and the workplace. Manager of tranzitions @ work, Brenda Higgins was grateful and believed that this was a positive for the whole community.
“We would like to show our appreciation to the State Government for supporting our organisation. This funding will help the transition of many students into the workforce,” Mrs Higgins said.
“This funding is a real positive for the entire community; it will allow us to provide more resources to students while ensuring that we continue to satisfy the skill requirements of the local industries. “Being a Local Community Partnership we rely on Government Funding to provide our services to the students and local business; this funding is recognition to all who have been involved,” she said.
This non-for-profit organisation plays a significant and challenging role in the lives of many young people in the community as they represent over 36 schools within the region.
“Primarily our role is to bring together young people, local communities, career practitioners and local industries to help young people find and achieve their career potential. With over 26 000 secondary school students in the region we are enjoying the challenge,” Mrs Higgins said.
