About Us

tranzitions @ work was formed in 1997 by local high schools to co-ordinate work placements. This was also facilitated by funding from the Australian Student Traineeship Foundation (ASTF) which later became the Enterprise and Career Education Foundation (ECEF).

In the 2005 budget, the Australian Government extended its commitment to improve the career education and transition support services available to young Australians by establishing the Career Advice Australia (CAA) initiative. Under the CAA initiative tranzitions @ work became a Local Community Partnership (LCP) working with over 36 schools and over 26 000 secondary school students within the regions of Northern Brisbane and the Redcliffe Peninsular.

The aim is to ensure all young people aged 13 to 19 have the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required for seamless and successful transition from school to post-school options in education, training and the workplace

tranzitions @ work has a management commitee of well respected individuals in the community that oversees the operations.
